The Magazine - February

February follows January: the only thing that can be said with any certainty of the new issue of 'The Magazine' - an illustrated monthly in which poets starve and locusts swarm, stories continue and dogs and egregious penguins wander in and out of a narrative whose numerous strands threaten to tie the editors in knots. This is the latest in an ongoing series that makes sense when you least expect it; that illustrates nothing so much as the tireless optimism of the many (imaginary) authors whose works are to be found within its covers; that acts as a sequel while striking out in several new directions, and asks you to settle back in the company of unreliable contributors, argumentative correspondents, perplexed staff and the occasional canine emissary.
